Lindholm’s WRC season continues in Chile
19 August 2025
GRX team’s Emil Lindholm and Reeta Hämäläinen will next compete for WRC2 World Championship points at Rally Chile. “Our goal is to deliver a clean performance at our own level and collect as many team championship points as possible,” Lindholm summarizes.

The Finnish duo, driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 for Toksport WRT, will continue their season at Rally Chile from September 11–14. The event, which appeared in the WRC calendar in 2019, 2023, and 2024, will be held at the World Championship level for the fourth time.

The rally is based in Concepción, Chile’s second-largest city on the country’s west coast. The stages are run inland in the BioBío region, known for its forestry industry. The gravel stages pass through private forest and landowner areas and are said to resemble the character of WRC rallies in Wales and Finland.

“It’s great that we get to go to Chile to race. The journey is long, but a fantastic rally route awaits us there,” Lindholm begins.

“Our team’s Toksport WRT equipment is already en route to the two WRC rounds in South America, which allows us to compete in Chile. This rally is important for our team as we are fighting for the WRC2 team championship.”

Toksport WRT is currently second in the WRC2 team standings.

“We’ve competed in two fewer rounds than the leaders, so we still have a good chance in the championship battle. Every point in South America is crucial,” Lindholm emphasizes.

Lindholm notes that the final day of Rally Finland left a good impression, despite an unfortunate detached side window slowing them down in Ouninpohja.

“We haven’t had a clean rally this year and fixing that is our main goal in Chile. A clean rally at our own level—that’s what we’re aiming for.”

“We’re not setting a specific result target, but finishing in the top three is realistic. In Chile, like in Finland, the competition is decided by tenths of a second, and the gaps are small, so there’s no room for mistakes,” Lindholm reminds.

Rally Chile Overview:
